Final Film / The Untold

Possible distributer for our film

I have researched different distributers that would go well with our film the distrusters I have researched are twentieth century fox and warp. The distributer I thought that would suite our film best would be dimension, which has now been taken over by the Weinstein Company. 

I think dimensions would be good to use as a distributer as most of their films are actions or thrillers for example scream and dark skies which are both thrillers. As our movie is an action thriller and dimensions specialises in this. I didn’t think warp would be a good idea to use a distributer, as even though they are a local company and would be easy to use they do not specialise in the genre of film we are doing and twentieth century fox are a too big distributer. 

TARGET AUDIENCE
one of the main things we have to do is to appeal to a certain target audience. as our film is psychological thriller it will appeal to people who are into thrillers and also like to think about the plot and twists what the move will hold. i have decided that our film we target both genders as by adding features of which both genders like. for example i think it will appeal to boys because it will include violence and action which most boys enjoy as they like violent video games for example call of duty.

 we will appeal to girls by making sure the main character is good looking because it is known that girls cannot resist to watch a movie that has a good looking actor in.

PROPS

one of the main things in our film will be the props, by including props it will help us to show the audience what genre of film it is which is a physiological thriller.
the props that will use are:

we will have two locations for our film one being a corridor of a prison and the other being a domestic urban setting. for our prison corridor we will have to use the college corridor as we asked if we could film in the Barnsley police station but for health and safety reasons we could not. the college corridor is the only place with grey walls and flooring as we need dull colours to show that the character is in a dark place in his life.
we have decided for our domestic urban location we will shoot at my house as we think it is the best place for camera angles and settings. we need to create the impression that even though that the area is happy and safe everything is different behind the doors of someones house, this is like the film poltergeist which helped to us to give us the idea.

looking at the BBFC rules and regulations of which certificate suits our film more it would have to be a certificate 15. as we have chose for the genre of our film to be a type of thriller involving bloody and action scenes and taboo langue. i had a look at at what certificate 18 would be but our film would not have such gory scenes that would make it an 18.

What might I see in a 15 rated film or video?

Any of the following:

•  frequent strong language (e.g. 'f***').
•   portrayals of sexual activity
•   strong verbal references to sex
•   sexual nudity
•   brief scenes of sexual violence or verbal references to sexual violence
•   discriminatory language or behaviour
•   drug taking

most of these categories above would be involved in our film except the last one by looking on the website BBFC helped me to see what we could include in our film.

Britney spears Everytime video

Even though this is a music video this scene inspired us to put it in our film. As in our film the character is murdered in the bath and when her husband finds her dead his first reaction is to lift her out. 

psycho 

i have chosen this scene from psycho because i think it fits in well with our film as the person who is killed is killed in the bathroom. the parts that are similar to our movie is that the woman is killed with a knife in the shower, so we have chosen the same murder weapon and it will end the same way that this scene ends with a close up of the blood going down the plug whole. this scene shows the character being killed in the bathroom but our film will show her already dead but the audience will know that she was killed by a knife as the killer left it behind.

lAW ABIDING CITIZEN individual analysis of a similar film
i have chose law abiding citizen as i think this movie in some parts relate well with our movie idea. as it is a bout a man who loses his wife and child when someone brakes into his house and kills them but leaves him alive. i think this is a good example of what our film is going to be about as a man looses his wife by someone braking into their house and murdering her. what is different to our film is that as the police come to the house the night she was murdered he kills one of the police officers and knocks the other one unconciouss as he thought the police coming into the house was the murderer, he has no choice to go on the run and look for the person who killed his wife. unlike law abiding citizen as he takes the law into his own hands and kills the people who murdered his wife but now the police are onto him as he is putting lots of people at risk.

this is a screen shot from the trailer. this shows a good example of what our character will be like. this shows that he looks like a normal late 30's man but who has lost everything. in the background it shows flashing lights, this is the police who is after him. this will be the same in our film because they think they killed his wife so the police will be after him.
for the credits we could use fade in and fade out this is how the words on this screen shot have been done.

this shot would be a good idea for our film showing the main character being questioned. also he is in handcuffs and a jumpsuite which shows he has been arrseted. these are the props that we will need to show that our character has been arrested.
throughout the film the lighting is low key this would be a good idea for the lighting to be like this in our film as it shows that it is a dark tail.
